1.) Describe the craftsmanship of your prints. (How good the project is technically crafted)
-registration and carving
-burnishing and ink coverage
I really like how the carving came out, In fact it came out better than I expected it to. I only had to make a few adjustments to the carving after testing it the first time. However, things started going down the drain after the first day of registration. I swear after the test print all of my final prints were awful, literally the only good one that I have confidence in was the test print, it was like I was cursed or something.

2.) How did you use texture, color harmony and balance to define your choice of subject?
-texture
-color harmony
--balance
I tried to use texture in the sand in the foreground by putting little bumps in it, and by trying to put a little less ink down there to try and give it sort of a crackly look. For the color harmony I basically just came up with like a “sunset” color scheme:
I felt like those colors would go together so I kind of just went for it.
I used yellow for the brightest color;
I used the blue as the darkest color, so for shadows and “outlines” I guess;
Then I used reddish-pink and orange as the sort of “transitioning colors” between the blue and yellow.
For the balance, I tried to have some sort of detail going on in each of the sections (foreground, middleground, background) EX: in the foreground I put in a shadow and some bumps in the sand, in the middleground there were the sand dunes and the pyramids, and in the background there were the slightly smaller pyramids and the sky where I tried to do a gradient to make it look like it was getting darker.
3.) If you could recreate your pieces what would you do differently to enhance your final outcome?
I would actually really love to redo the registrations because those came out really badly, I’ll try to redo them over the summer and then post them on my blog if I can!
