Describe the craftsmanship of your painting. (Is it neat and well executed?)
The painting isn’t very neat in a lot of places, I’ve done my best to try and tidy up some of the spots, but it’s very time consuming, and it’s come to the point where I don’t have the time to work on it anymore. However, I will do my best to try and work on it over summer break.
What was the most difficult part of this project?
Trying to make an acrylic painting look like an oil painting, it’s hard trying to blend everything together and imitate one of his paintings using only acrylics. I mean I would have bought oil paints but art supplies are really expensive.
Describe your color choices and how they reflect the work of your chosen artist?
I don’t really know how to explain it, I just tried to match how it looked in the picture I took of it.
Describe how the style of your landscape reflects your chosen artist.
He did a lot of buildings and places without people, so I figured I should just paint the abandoned gas station that’s near my grandparent's house.
What do you think your chosen artist would say if he or she could see your painting today?
“Is that acrylic paint? What are you doing with your life?”
What would you do differently if you were to do this project again?
I really want to redo this, but use oil paints instead of acrylic so it actually looks more like his work.
